Safety comes before Karma

You may decline, cancel, leave, or end an interaction at any time. Withdrawing consent, blocking someone, cancelling for safety, or making a good-faith report does not lower Karma. You never need to continue an unwanted or unsafe interaction to protect your account, matching priority, or rewards.

If it is safe to do so, let your match know promptly when plans change. Safety never requires an explanation or further contact.

Treat people with respect

• Keep profiles and communications honest.
• Respect boundaries, identities, relationship goals, and a person’s decision not to continue.
• Ask for consent and remember that consent can be withdrawn at any time.
• Keep another person’s contact information, messages, images, and personal details private.
• Communicate changes and cancellations promptly when it is safe to do so.
• Use merchant perks only as offered, without duplicating codes or pressuring anyone to redeem.
• Give factual feedback and make reports in good faith.

Meeting in person

Meet in a public place, tell someone you trust where you are going, arrange transportation you control, and leave whenever you feel uncomfortable.

PairPerks does not conduct criminal background checks or guarantee another user’s identity, honesty, conduct, safety, or compatibility.

PairPerks is not an emergency service, and its contact form and reports are not monitored for immediate response. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency or campus-safety service.

Karma and matching priority

PairPerks is always free for users. No one can buy Karma, matching priority, extra matches, or access to another person. Payment, merchant spending, donations, and purchase history do not influence matching.

Karma can affect matching priority only when eligible people compete for limited match capacity. It may change the order in which eligible people are considered. It never:

• Changes compatibility between two people.
• Overrides consent, blocks, safety restrictions, eligibility, or hard matching requirements.
• Guarantees a match.
• Increases anyone’s match limit.

Routine short-term participation signals expire after 30 days. Qualifying Karma may also unlock private, earned Karma Rewards. Karma and reward eligibility are not public badges and are not shown to matches or merchants.

We explain broad contributing categories, active durations, and appeal rights. To protect users and reduce manipulation, we do not publish exact point values, thresholds, confidence rules, anti-abuse checks, reporter identities, or restricted evidence.

Reports and moderation

Use the contact page or email [email protected] to report a concern or request help. Share relevant facts and preserve evidence when it is safe to do so. Do not confront someone to gather evidence.

A low rating, one unreviewed report, or an allegation by itself does not create a Karma penalty. PairPerks may take a temporary protective safety action while reviewing an urgent concern; that is not a final Karma finding.

Moderators assess severity, credibility, context, harm, repeated behavior, and available evidence under the applicable policy. When a confirmed serious outcome receives a temporary negative effect, that effect lasts at least 30 days. Moderators may impose a longer restriction based on the circumstances, up to a permanent safety or account ban. A permanent ban is a safety action, not permanent negative Karma.

Nothing in these Guidelines limits immediate protective action or account termination required by the Terms. Conduct designated zero-tolerance under the Terms is subject to immediate permanent termination. We restrict access to report information, but cannot promise complete confidentiality or anonymity. Information may be used as needed for review, safety, operations, or legal obligations.

Appeals

If you receive notice of a Karma or moderation action, follow the instructions in that notice or contact support within 14 days.

While a timely appeal is reviewed, the disputed Karma-priority effect is paused. Separate safety or account restrictions may remain unless PairPerks explicitly lifts them. The result will affirm, modify, or reverse the action with a broad explanation; restricted evidence and reporter identities remain private.
